I am so sorry to learn of Paul's passing.  It was always fun to hike with Paul and Lois  in the Glendale Hiking Club.  Always enjoyed his stories about teaching and he shared a wealth of information on our hikes. He obviously left a lasting impression on his students.

Mr. Banks was my favorite elementary school teacher.  He taught me what the word " self-discipline" meant and shared with us his  love for salads(in 1960 before salad bars were invented).
He was a stellar teacher and kind to us 6th graders, always encouraging and challenging us.

I am so sorry to hear of Paul's passing. He taught my brother Larry in junior high at Ocotillo in 1960. Later I ended up teaching there and got to know him personally. I even made Lois a ceramic spoon holder. ;^)  We used to call him and John Tang the Gold Dust Twins. They were wicked up to mischief together. Jim Hamilton was another fellow teacher and co-conspirator. Anyone who knew him felt not only blessed but well entertained. My prayers are with Lois and the rest of the family. I was lucky enough to be one of his students at Ocotillo Elementary 1977 through 1978. He was a light-hearted yet firm teacher. I remember the whole class laughing after he spent our recess time meticulously cleaning his windows in the classroom only to have mr. Lewis walked by running his fingers across the clean windows and messing them up again. The camaraderie between them was very funny and made us all laugh. My deepest condolences and heartfelt prayers to his surviving family. He was a wonderful man.

Mr. Banks was my 5th grade teacher at Ocotillo School back in 1979-1980.  I have thought about him many many times over the years.    I remember how much he loved us kids.  He would play kick ball with us at recess and tell us jokes.  He was one of the reasons why I became a teacher.  He was always full of energy and he was a very intelligent person.  I am sad that he has passed, but his memory and his legacy  of teaching thousands of kids will last a lifetime.  God bless you Mr. Banks.  I will never forget the positive influence you had on my life and the lives of all the other students you taught.  So long, my teacher, my mentor, and my friend.

I am so sad to hear of Paul's passing.  He was such a good person with a smile for everyone.  We had many good times on the faculty of Ocotllo School. His personality was always a spark to our good times.  Heaven must have set off the fireworks upon his entrance.               My prayers and love are sent to you, Lois and family.

Paul has been our friend for 27 yrs.  Paul and Lois hiked to our weeding on Estrella Mt. and all four of  us hiked down to Havasupai. We will miss the good times we had with him.

Paul was a man of GOD--he and I attended Daily Mass over many years--he was a strong person who respected all those he associated with. Always with smile. To his family, know that he will remained in my Daily Prayers--yes, I continue to attend Daily Mass at St. Louis the King Church. GOD'S blessings to all--he now rests in peace with our LORD and our BLESSED MOTHER.

I am very sad to hear of Mr. Banks passing.  He was my teacher in 7th grade in 1965 at Ocotillo elementary. He has always been my favorite teacher. I will never forget him. R.I.P., Sir.

The world will be poorer now that Paul has gone to his eternal rest, beyond the Parkinson's power over him.  The highest tribute I can pay to him is that Paul was a good man, a devoted father and a special friend.  May his family feel the support of my prayers and know God's peace.  Sister Rachel.
