

was born in Pueblo, CO to Fred and RoseLee Pisciotta on Jan. 29, 1936. He passed away suddenly on August 20, 2014. He and his brothers spent their childhood years on the family farm outside Pueblo. He graduated from Western State College and later earned masters degrees in Mathematics and Education Administration. Pete taught and coached at Pueblo Catholic High School (Colorado), Washington HS (Phoenix), and Brophy College Prep (Phoenix) before moving on to Glendale Community College (GCC). At GCC he coached football, was a math instructor for his tenure, and later became the school's intercollegiate athletics at the junior college level, he received many prestigious honors in his career as Director or Athletics, notably the: Greater Pueblo Sports Association Hall of Fame, NATYCAA Hall of Fame recognizing his contribution to 2-year colleges, and National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics Hall of Fame. His contributions to the community involved the Glendale Kachina Rotary and St. Vincent de Paul Society. He also was a longtime board member of the Cholla Bay HOA in Mexico where he and his wife Janet maintained a second home for 40 years. Family was his highest priority. He also loved traveling, gardening, fishing, golfing, and attending sporting events. He will be remembered for his outgoing personality, storytelling, and willingness to help others. He mentored many young people's lives in the classroom and on the athletic field. Pete is survived by Janet, his wife of 56 years, his three sons, Gary (Jessie), Steve (Sally), Chris (Lori), his grandchildren, Cailene, Maura and Steven, his brothers Fred (Sharon), John (Sharleen), his sister-in-law Charlotte and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Rosary will be at 5:00 pm with visitation following from 6:00-8:00pm on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at Chapel of the Chimes, 7924 North 59th Ave, Glendale, AZ. Funeral Mass will be at 11:00am on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 6180 W Utopia Road, Glendale, AZ.
