She was born to parents Joseph and Lucy Maurin, in Lorain, Ohio on June 16th, 1937.
Phyllis passed away after a struggling with a debilitating illness for quite some time.
Phyllis is survived by her sister Lois Maurin. Phyllis is also survived her three children, Deborah A. Hampshire, Denise C. Tuttle and Stephen J.M. Crownover, her three grandchildren, Kristen Sanniec, Kali Crownover, Lindsay Jones and her great granddaughter Kaimilla Crownover.
She moved to Phoenix in 1945, where she made many close friends and attended Isaac Grade School and West High School. After high school she married James Crownover in 1955 and was married to him for twenty one years. While raising her children, she attended Glendale Community College where she pursued a career as a Registered Nurse and worked in this field for over twenty years.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, watching her grandchildren, working as a nurse, sewing, cooking and enjoying the food she cooked! She really made her family the number one priority in her life. She always managed her schedule around what her family needed and actively helped to raise her three grandchildren.
She will be missed dearly by family and friends, and will always be remembered for her loving spirit and big heart.
Services for Phyllis Hunter were held on Tuesday, June 7th at West Resthaven Funeral Home located at 6450 West Northern Avenue, Glendale, AZ 85301.
