

Porfirio “Pro” Lopez passed away at home surrounded by family on Monday, September 1, 2014. Born July 13, 1977 in Phoenix, Arizona. Porfirio is survived by his wife Theresa E Aguirre and two children Maritza and Felipe Lopez; his father Vicente Lopez; mother Guadalupe Velasquez; brothers- Salvador Escarsega, Jaime Escarsega, Vicente Lopez; and sisters- Rosa Escarsega, Veronica Hernandez, Petra Rodriguez, Abigail Ortiz, Angela Lopez; nine nephews, twelve nieces, six great-nephews and four great-nieces. Porfirio will always be remembered as a fun loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and best friend. Known by his family and friends as the “Social Chair.” He organized many family traditions such as family volleyball games around the holidays, family cookouts, or simply throwing a football around in the backyard with his nephews. Porfirio’s crazy car dancing skills, his off tune serenading of the “Puetra Negra” and his epic cannonballs into the pool are the memories that his wife and children will cherish forever. Even though his time on earth was short, he lived more in his 37 years than most people do in a lifetime.
Visitation will be held at West Resthaven Funeral Home (6450 W Northern Ave, Glendale, 85301) on Monday, Sept. 8th at 5pm and rosary at 7pm. Funeral mass on Tuesday, Sept. 9th at 10am at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 1418 S 17th Ave, Phx,85007.
