Rachel Meraz, a proud native of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away surrounded by the love of her family. Born on May 24, 1956, Rachel was raised in Phoenix by her loving parents, Aurora and Roberto Robin. Throughout her adult life she created her own values and remained deeply devoted to her family and the community she called home. Though she faced many health challenges in her later years, Rachel never lost her spirit or her willingness to speak her mind. Her strong work ethic, honesty, strength, and unwavering opinions were part of what made her special and unforgettable.
Rachel will be lovingly remembered by her sisters, Lupe, Janie, Debra, Julie and her brother, David. She was a devoted mother to her daughters, Gina, Sylvia, and Lupe, who were her pride and joy of her life. She also welcomed her son-in-laws, Mark and Jacob, into the family with open arms and loved them as her own. Rachel’s greatest happiness came from watching her family grow, and she treasured every moment spent with them.
She was an incredibly proud grandmother to Dannie, Ariyale, Zoey, Addisyn, and Maritza. She cherished being a great-grandmother to Nevaeh, Mason, and Aurora Rey, whose smiles and love brought her so much happiness. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren filled her heart with endless joy, laughter, and purpose.
Rachel loved nothing more than family gatherings where everyone could come together to share stories, laughter, and delicious food. She had a passion for dancing, shopping, cooking, decorating her home, listening to lowrider oldies that brought back treasured memories, celebrating the holidays, and creating lasting traditions with those she loved most.
Rachel will be remembered for her fierce love for her family, her outspoken personality, her generous heart, and the countless memories she created with those fortunate enough to know her. Although her physical presence is gone, her love, wisdom, laughter, and legacy will continue to live though her daughters, son-in-laws, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all those whose lives she touched.
She can now rest and watch over her family with all her loved ones that passed before her. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
