Randall “Randy” George Stuckey, 81, of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away on February 20, 2026, surrounded by his loving family and, no doubt, a heavenly welcome committee he had been preparing to meet for many years.
Randy was born on December 24, 1944, in Wooster, Ohio, to George and Jean Stuckey. At the age of six, he moved with his family to Phoenix, Arizona — a relocation that would shape the rest of his life in ways he couldn’t yet imagine. In the second grade at Encanto Elementary School, he met a girl named Anne. Though redistricting briefly interrupted their story, God clearly had other plans. They found each other again at a Christmas party for the Maricopa County School of X-Ray Technology in 1966. Their first date was January 1, 1967, and by March 3 of that same year, they were married — a love story that lasted nearly 59 years and became one of Randy’s greatest earthly blessings.
After graduating in 1968, Randy began his career in Radiology at County Hospital. He pursued Interventional Radiology at John C. Lincoln Hospital from 1971 until 2008. Even then, he didn't feel he could retire just yet, finishing his career at Phoenix Baptist Hospital in 2009. Through decades of caring for patients and coworkers, Randy built not just a profession but a ministry.
Randy never met a stranger — only someone who hadn’t yet heard his latest joke or his testimony. He loved studying the Bible, sharing his faith with anyone who would listen, and faithfully serving the Lord in his church and daily life. If you spent more than a few minutes with him, chances are you walked away encouraged, prayed for, or with a joke he had every intention of repeating in Sunday School the following Sunday.
His family was his greatest joy. He expressed his love not only in words, but through the countless wooden carvings and hand-crafted ornaments he made for those he loved — each one a lasting reminder of his patience, creativity, and generous heart.
Randy was preceded in death by his father, George F. Stuckey; his mother, Eva Jean Stuckey; and his sister, Joyce Stuckey.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Anne; his son, Jason (Caroline) and beloved grandson, Nicolas; his son, Charles (Susan); his sister, Cyndee (Ed) Kinsey; his brother, Timothy (Dean’na); his sister, Terri Hegmann; and many cherished nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Randy’s life was a testimony to his favorite message: that we do not choose God, He chooses us. While his family and friends will miss his steady presence, his well-worn Bible, his familiar jokes, and his servant’s heart, they rejoice in the promise that he is now home with his Savior — fully restored, fully at peace, and probably already sharing the Good News.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Faith Bible Church, 17230 N. 59th Avenue, Glendale, Arizona, on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. For those unable to attend in person, a livestream will be available at: https://vimeo.com/event/5755406.
