Richard “Dick” Chase Jr 81, of Glendale Arizona passed away Thursday, September 29, 2022. Richard was born in Glendale, California in 1941. Dick served 20 years in the United States Air Force as a radio and television broadcast specialist. His military career was an adventure that took his family all over the world including Spain, Italy, Alaska, and various cities across the United States. Dick retired with his family in beautiful Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1980. After his Air Force career, Dick worked in radio broadcast positions for various radio stations. He also worked as a Sports Announcer with the Colorado Springs Sky Sox and as an educator at Pikes Peak Community College and Colorado Springs District 20. He was an avid fan of all things baseball and followed the Boston Red Sox with devotion. Dick greatly impacted the lives of sports fans, students, coworkers, family and friends during his rich and wonderful lifetime.
He was married to Barbara Jane Gilkison in December 1962 in Topeka, Kansas where Dick was stationed with the Air Force. They had four sons during their marriage. Philip Chase, Christopher Chase, Andrew Chase, and Peter Chase. He is preceded in death by his son Christopher. Dick is survived by his wife Barbara, his sons Philip (Sarah), Andrew (Susie), and Peter (Stephanie). He has 6 beautiful grandchildren (Autumn, Lauryn, Jasmine, Matthew, Brenna and Isaiah) and 3 beautiful great-grandchildren (Nico, Keilani, and Willow).
Richard Chase and his presence on this Earth will be greatly missed. Please join us on Saturday October 15, 2022 at 4:00pm for a Memorial in celebration of Dick’s life.
