Richard Lee Felkins, a beloved and devoted husband, father, and friend, passed away on December 7, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on September 20, 1943, in Phoenix, Arizona, Richard was the youngest of 13 children to Andrew and Bertha Felkins.
Richard enlisted in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, serving as a nuclear weapons specialist. After his military service, he pursued a career in electronics, eventually retiring as the CEO of Press Com Electronics in Mesa, Arizona. Richard was passionate about his work and found true fulfillment in his career.
In 1968, Richard married his wife, Darlene, whom he met through her sister. Their relationship blossomed through letters exchanged while Richard was away at war, leading to 57 years of a happy and loving marriage. Together, they welcomed their daughter, Kimberly, in 1969. Richard was an amazing father, teaching Kimberly everything from how to throw a ball to driving, with the DMV even commending her skills.
Richard and Darlene shared a love for travel, embarking on spontaneous trips across the United States. Whether traveling, riding motorcycles, or spending time at home, Richard's favorite moments were those spent with his wife Darlene.
Known for his dependability, Richard was always ready to lend a helping hand to friends and neighbors. His kindness extended from small gestures, like bringing treats to his mother-in-law, to assisting friends with household tasks.
Richard is survived by his wife, Darlene Felkins; his grandchildren, Amber and Hanna; his sister, Louise Land; and his nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Kimberly Grossembacher.
Richard's legacy of love, devotion, and reliability will be cherished by all who knew him.
