He was born on June 19, 1964 in Phoenix to Edward and Darla Barnes.
Rick was a printing pressman for all of his working years, starting at the age of about 17 at Carriage Trade. He worked at Cartwright School District as a courier and then moved to the print shop. Rick loved being a pressman and he was one of the best in the county at his job. He became a print shop manager in Washington School District and supervised the print shop staff. Rick fixed a lot of broken machinery and saved the district a lot of money by having a “repairman” on site.
He loved music and playing his guitars. Rick’s favorite performers were The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Glen Campbell and Jimi Hendrix. He would play their music for us, it felt good sitting and listening to him play the guitar. Rick accumulated a vast knowledge of all types of music and knew the backgrounds of many bands.
He was so smart and he loved “inventing” things such as re-inventing the sounds from speakers. Rick said that speakers were his friends and he had many of them.
He is survived by his loving parents Ed and Darla & two daughters Jennifer (Christian) LeMaster and Ricki Barnes.
Family and friends are invited to a viewing on Friday, June 17, 2016 from 9:00AM-10:00AM at West Resthaven Funeral Home, 6450 W. Northern Avenue, Glendale. A celebration of Rick’s life will begin at 10:00AM. He will be laid to rest at Resthaven Park Cemetery.
