Robert James Ballenger

Robert’s wife, Viola (Preuss) preceded him in death in 2006. Their youngest child, Robert J Ballenger Jr., passed away in 1983 due to a motorcycle accident.

Robert is survived by four of their five children: Gary (Patti), Sandi Jaka (Duane), Greg (Jan) and Steve (Kathy). He is also survived by much loved grandchildren, great grandchildren, brother Carl, sister Betty, and nieces and nephews.

Robert’s children wish to acknowledge his service in WWII including; being in the first landing on Omaha Beach in the D-Day invasion; fought in the battle of “Normandy”, “Northern France”, “Rhineland”, and “Battle of the Bulge”. His service was rewarded with a Purple Heart, Bronze Star with Arrowhead, Good Conduct Medal, Commendation from the City of Antwerp, Belguim, and various other awards and medals.

We are so proud of you, Dad. We love you and will miss you.

A memorial service will be held at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church
