

Lifelong outdoorsman, Hunter, and dog lover. Bob was born to Leo “Jack”, and Lillian “Peggy” Kawa in Elgin Illinois. The family moved to Arizona soon after. Bob graduated Glendale high school, after which he earned a bachelors degree from the University of Arizona. He serviced in the United States Army from August 1953 to June 1955. After his military service he worked a long career as a Railroad locomotive engineer. Working for the Southern Pacific railroad from the mid 50’s until his retirement in in 1996. Bob was a devoted Catholic. A parishioner of Saint Simon and Jude Catholic Church. Achieving the honor of third degree within the Knights of Columbus. Bob is preceded in death by his Father Leo “Jack” Kawa, his Mother Lillian “Peggy” Kawa, and his two sisters Dorthy Cook and Sandy Fortier. He is survived by six nephews and two nieces, along with several great nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Robert will be held Saturday, July 20, 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary, 7924 North 59th Ave, Glendale, AZ 85301. A funeral service will occur Saturday, July 20, 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM, 7924 North 59th Ave, Glendale, AZ 85301. A graveside service will occur Saturday, July 20, 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at Phoenix Memorial Park & Mortuary, 200 W Beardsley Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85027.
