Robert C Makowski (Bob) 82, of Phoenix Arizona, passed away on July 17, 2015. He was born in Plattsburgh, NY on October 9, 1932. He was the Son of Walter L Makowski and Minnie M Makowski.
He was predeceased by Dorothy M Makowski; they shared 52 years of marriage together. He is survived by their 5 Children and their Spouses, Robert M and Louise Makowski, Patricia and Tom Eaton, John and Rhonda Makowski, Kenneth Makowski, Norman and Donna Makowski, 13 Grandchildren and Spouses, 10 Great Grandchildren, and 1 Great Great Grandchild.
He was a Veteran of the United States Navy, and lifetime member of the American Legion. He worked for the City of Plattsburgh, NY and was part of the pit crew at Plattsburgh International Raceway for many mosquito filled evenings. After moving to Arizona he worked in the custodial industry and was the caretaker of the Greek Orthodox Church until enjoying his retirement.
He had a long fulfilling life of fishing, bowling, and dancing (especially dancing to Polka music). After moving to Arizona from New York he enjoyed lying in the sun for hours while the sun tea was brewing and until he was as dark as the tea. Throughout the years, he continuously thought of new and adventurous places to take his children and grandchildren, building memories for them and his great grandchildren along the way that will always be remembered and shared by the family for generations.
His presence will be greatly missed but never forgotten and he will live in the hearts of all of us. Please join us in remembrance and the celebration of his life.
