

He was born in Phoenix, Arizona on January 11, 1957. He was the eldest son out of three children to Robert and Peggy Raney. He was raised and lived most of his life in Glendale, Arizona. Bud graduated in 1975 from Cortez High School in Phoenix, Arizona. He would go to school during the day and work on trucks after for his family. By the time Bud could start driving, he was helping his father’s trucking company and would continue until his last days.
Bud spent most of his life in the transportation business. He started seasonal truck driving hauling cotton, sheep, cattle, and grain. He would also go on to support the family business with regular loads of feed to the Havasupai Tribe.
1980 Bud and Carol Raney met through the trucking business and married in March 1983. Their eldest child, Robert R. (Bo) Raney III, was born on August 16, 1983.
1988 Bud and Carol acquired Roadrunner Rock and Granite and served the company until 1997.
In 1997 Bud ventured off and created his own independent trucking company B-n-C Transportation, which then later would be changed to PnB Cattle Co in 2003.
Upon moving to Maricopa in 2022 Bud continued to drive trucks for different companies. He worked with Ken Lawry hauling equipment for Key Logistics. He made numerous hauls to Idaho delivering ostriches. He even managed to continually buy and sell trailers. Bud did not like to sit still, he enjoyed working and staying busy.
Bud is survived by his children Paula Raney and Rebecca Raney of Glendale, Arizona, Dawn Marie Guerrero of Payson, Arizona; grandchildren Mateo Nevarez of Phoenix, Arizona, Riley Stautberg of Glendale, Arizona; siblings Arthur L. (Karen) Raney of Jerome, Idaho, and Jeannine M. (Ed) Wiley of Marysville, Indiana. Survivors also include his last living Aunt on his father’s side, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Bud was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Peggy Raney, and son Robert R. (Bo) Raney III.
Visitation will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 16th at West Resthaven Funeral Home at 6450 W Northern Avenue, Glendale, AZ. The funeral will follow, with the burial to be conducted after at Resthaven Park Cemetery at 11:00 a.m.
