

He was born on June 15, 1942 in Freeland, WA to the late Howard and Euna Boyd.
Ronald was an Army veteran of the Vietnam Conflict.
He graduated from the former Columbia Union College in Takoma Park, Maryland with a double major in music and history earning a bachelor’s degree in music.
Ronald was gifted in music he played the cello and the piano. He played with an ensemble at Carnegie Hall during his early years. Ronald refinished, rebuilt (from the ground up), tuned and rented pianos to the White House, Embassy’s and to many celebrities. Since 1968, he owned and operated Boyd’s Pianos. Boyd’s Pianos has been a Washington D.C. Landmark for fine pianos such as Steinway, Hamlin, Yamaha, Kawai, Knabe, CHAS Walter and Samick.
Ronald is survived by son Jeff (Debra) Hazelton, two grandchildren Cynthia “CC” & Zachary, brother Lloyd Boyd, four nieces Sheri Boyd, Cynthia Anderson, Kimberly Anderson & Laurie Krestchmer and a nephew Bryon Merrill.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Joyce Merrill and a nephew Mark Hooper.
Family and friends are invited to a viewing on Friday, July 15, 2016 from 9-10AM at West Resthaven Funeral Home, 6450 W. Northern Avenue, Glendale. Funeral services will begin at 10AM. Burial with military honors will follow in Resthaven Park Cemetery.
