Sandra Gonzales

Sandra Gonzales, 35, of Phoenix, Arizona entered into heaven on Monday, August 23, 2021 with her family and children at her side. Sandra was born in Phoenix, Arizona on April 5, 1986 to Pauline (Vargas) Gonzales and Joe Gonzales, the 1st of 2 daughters. Growing up, Sandra, was lucky to have a step-father, Mauricio Garcia, who loved her very much. Sandra grew up in the Valley and attended Cartwright Elementary school and graduated from Maryvale High School in Phoenix, Arizona in 2005.

Following high school, Sandra and her love Joseph Ortiz started a family. Together they had three beautiful children. Sandra was a dedicated mother and devoted girlfriend.

At 26 Sandra found out that she had cancer, but that didn’t stop her. With the help and support of her mother, she started her treatments and just continued to do what she needed to do. She spend all of her hours with her children and enjoying them grow up. Sandra went to every one of her children’s events and games and sat on the sideline cheering them on, even when she was sick. Sandra’s passion was “food”! She loved going out and trying new restaurants.

Sandra had ups and downs with the cancer that lasted for nine years. The sarcoma had metastasized causing tumors and masses. Sandra underwent many treatments. It wasn’t until her 35th birthday, in April, did the cancer become to strong causing Sandra to slow down, taking her life.

Sandra will be remembered for her strength, unselfish love and dedication to her children.

She leaves behind her mother, Pauline (with step-father Mauricio Garcia), who were by her side her whole life; her dad Joe Gonzales; her long time boyfriend and love Joseph Ortiz; children Ariyah, Joseph Jr. and Nathanel; siblings Alicia (Michael), Joe's Gonzales, Zoe Gonzales and Priscilla ; Tia Bec (Gene); Tio Steve; Tio Martin (Rhonda); grandparents Pat and Will Vargas; and her dog Oso.

Sandra is going to join with Arthur and cousin Willie, and her best friend Erica.

The family kindly requests that you each bring a single red rose to be placed on the casket and any other flowers that touch your heart. Makes will be required at the service and no photos are to be taken. Thank you in advance for your kindness and respect.

A visitation for Sandra will be held Thursday, September 9, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary, 7924 North 59th Ave, Glendale, AZ 85301, followed by a funeral service from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
