

Sharon was born 91 years ago in Shenandoah, Iowa, the only child of Homer and Grace Doty. She married Kermit Davids in 1956, who was a member of the Mohican Nation. Together the built a life centered on family, faith, and service.
Sharon was known for her caring and wisdom. She earned a Doctorate in Education Administration and taught college nursing for many years. She served on non-profit boards and in volunteer organizations, including those for hospice and for foster children. She was an ordained Elder in the Community of Christ Church and served countless roles over the year, including as pastor in the Arizona Mission. She conducted choirs beginning in her teenage years, and played the violin. Her children cherish the many summers spent at Camp Manitou in Michigan, where Sharon served as camp nurse and campfire director. Above all, Sharon cherished her family. She and Kermit encouraged the talents of all their children and grandchildren, including supporting private school and advanced degrees, and assisting each according to their gifts. Sharon will be remembered for her openness to all.
She is survived by her children, Brent, Stacy, and Sue; her grandchildren, Matthew Joshua and Kiley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kermit.
The family wishes to thank the caregivers and staff at Acacia Heights for their great compassion and care.
Sharon will be interred in the Stockbridge-Munsee Community Burial Ground alongside her husband.
