Shawn Austin Cook

Shawn Cook of Phoenix, AZ, passed away on April 23rd, 2023 at the age of 51. Shawn was born on February 21st, 1972 in Phoenix, AZ. After high school, Shawn went on to study philosophy and the arts at Glendale Community College. He discovered a passion for poetry, becoming a published poet at the age of 20. In 1992, Shawn welcomed twins with his bestfriend Juli. The two would go on to marry on Halloween night, many years later. Shawn spent much of his career caring for disabled individuals in the state of Arizona. In 2008, Shawn and his family moved to Oregon where they made many cherished memories and built friendships that would last a lifetime. They consider the community they built there to be family.

Shawn is loved and missed dearly by his family; especially his children Christian and Marqui Walker, his sister Crystal, and his friend Juli. He is remembered also by his nieces and nephew, Samantha, Tiffany, Regan, Hannah and Noah. Shawn was preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn Starks, and his friend and spiritual advisor, Bobbi Walker. Shawn will be most remembered for his patience, knowledge, and his creative outlook on life.
