Shep accepted Christ as his personal Savior at an early age. He graduated from East High School class of ’68 before joining the Air Force. Shep took an early retirement from VA Aluminum in Phoenix, Arizona.
Shep loved to dance and live life. He made a party for everyone around him. He was a gentleman in dress and personality. He made it a point to enjoy life. He had a different type of sense of humor. To know him was to love him.
Shep left his bodily form to become an angel on October 7, 2021.
Shep leaves behind his life partner of over 50 years, Thelma White, his only child Ta’Sheiko (Gregory) Stephens-Robinson, his three granddaughters, Juristine Sueing, Ta’Shel Robinson, and Bryannae’ Robinson of Arizona; six siblings, Acie Stephens Jr., Terry Melson, Betty (Carl) Thomas, Elvis (Colette) Stephens, Larry Stephens of Buffalo, New York and Reginald (Leslie) Stephens of Maryland. He was met in heaven by his sister, Velma Baker and his brothers Kenneth and Ezell Stephens. He also leaves behind three great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and a legacy of love.
He will be remembered by many names and things by many people but definitely be remembered for the legacy of love he fed into the people who around him.
His family would like to thank you for being a part of his life and keeping his
journey moving.
To my Poppy,
They say that there is a reason and
that time will heal but neither time
nor reason will change how I feel.
I look back in fondness of all the
memories shared and conversations had
from growing small to really tall.
If only everyone was so lucky
to have been loved the way you loved me.
One phone call or one visit and
you’d grant us the world if you could.
Always and forever, you’ll hold a special
place deep within my heart
and forever it will remain.
Whether we’re near or far
you will always travel in my heart.
You may not be present but we
all feel your presence.
Love always and forever,
Shelley ♥
