Shirleen Marie Martin, a beloved and cherished member of her community, passed away on September 14, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on March 9, 1942, in Williams, Arizona, to Albert Creo Hoskins and Dorothy Elizabeth Zettler, Sherry, as she was affectionately known, lived a life full of compassion and dedication to her family and friends.
Sherry graduated from Prescott High School in 1961. Her career was marked by her role as an Executive Secretary at Phoenix General Hospital, as well as a legal secretary for Lewis and Roca and later at APS, from which she eventually retired. Her professional life was characterized by her dedication and excellence in her field.
Married to Kenneth Roland Martin for 54 years, Sherry and Kenneth had two children together. Family gatherings were among her most cherished times, where her love for her family shone brightly.
Sherry had a passion for sewing, creating Teddy Bears and Bunnies for her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends. She also enjoyed her monthly card group with friends and co-workers, and she had a deep love for her yard, spending every morning watering her plants and basking in the sunshine.
Sherry is survived by her son, Torrance R. Martin (Deborah), and her daughter, Renee D. Pinnick (Kim). Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Aranda L. Thompson (Dustin), Ashley M. Pirness (Francis), Andrew T. Martin, and Lacey E. Smith (Samuel), as well as her great-grandchildren, Rihanna, Hallie, Grayson, Declan, Waverly, Gunner, Ryland, Kash, Hayes, Lyzah, Walker, Paige, Lilly, Drake, Dakota, and Danica. She will also be dearly missed by her sister, Terry Brink, her nieces, Kimberly Schnoebelen (Scott) and Shannon Brink (Alan), Uncle Bill Brink, and her beloved dog, Lady.
A graveside service will be held at Resthaven Park Cemetery, located at 6450 West Northern Ave, Glendale, AZ 85301, on September 24, 2025, from 10:00 am to 10:30 am.
Sherry's life was a testament to the love and compassion she shared with everyone around her, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
