She was born on October 10, 1936 in Buena Vista, Ohio. Shirley was one of seven children born to the late Ollie and Ruby Polley.
She married Herman Burkhart on August 29, 1955. They have shared over 66 years of marriage and had six children together.
Shirley is survived by her husband Herman, six children Reva (Butch) Edie, Mike (Pat) Burkhart, Scott Burkhart, Chris (Machelle) Burkhart, Sue (Lou) Duncan & Barry Burkhart, 12 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren & 9 great great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law Jackie Burkhart, Barry’s significant other, Betty Brumley, and her two brothers and four sisters.
Family and friends are invited to a viewing on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 from 4-5PM with a service starting at 5PM at West Resthaven Funeral Home, 6450 W. Northern Avenue, Glendale.
