Shirley was born on 7/1/1935 to Ruth and Jack Waite in Waterloo, Iowa.

Moved from Iowa to Phoenix, Arizona in 1951. All 9 of them right before she turned 16 years old.

Went to Phoenix Union High School after only attending a one room school house in Iowa.

In 1955 she met Robert Motz. They dated for two weeks and were married after only three weeks on September 17, 1955. A match made in heaven! They went on to have two daughters. Deborah Diane (DeeDee) and Vicki Jean. Shirley also had a daughter from a previous relationship, Terry Lynn Lam.

When Shirley had DeeDee, she dedicated her life to being a wonderful mother, grandmother and wife.

Shirley made a beautiful home for her family. Cooking and gardening were her passion.

Shirley was predeceased by her parents Ruth and Jack, sister Barbara, brother Lyle and husband Robert. She is survived by daughters Terry Hays and husband Jim, DeeDee Bryans and husband Gary, and Vicki Wix; grandsons Shane Bryans and Amy, Jason Bryans and wife Jess, Aaron Wix and wife Alysa; granddaughters Courtney McCormack and husband Dave, Aubrey Galford and husband Joey; and great-grandchildren Charlie, Eevie, Cade, Phoebe, Theodore, Minh and Andy; and Siblings Jackie Mapston and husband Bill, Darrel Waite and wife Jan, Veron Waite, Floyd Waite and wife Bonnie.
