Shirley Jean Parsley

At Western Illinois University, Shirley earned her bachelor’s degree in Title I special education before moving forward and earning her master’s degree in education administration. She spent her life as a dedicated and well accomplished Teaching Administrator working for many school districts before finishing her career as an administrator at the Rockford Public Schools District.

When not working Shirley enjoyed expressing herself through her fashion choices. She had a deep love for finding clothing that matched her unique style. She also loved the Christmas season and over the years collected a plethora of holiday décor that would turn her home into a winter wonderland every season.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents Bernard and Elizabeth Parsley. She is survived by her children Shelly Gardner (Mark) and Adam Chrestman (Jen), her siblings Mary and Norman (Debbie) Parsley, her grandchildren MacKenzie (John) and Madelyne (Joe), her Great-grandchild Mack and more family and friends than could ever be listed.
