Socorro Payan Ramirez, 87, of Glendale, Arizona entered into heaven at her home with her family by her side. Socorro was born on February 10, 1933, the 1st of 10 children, to Leocadia Estrada and Francisco Payan, in Durango, Mexico. Socorro and her brothers and sisters grew up in La Atascosa a very close community in Tepehuanes, Dgo.
When Socorro was just 18 years old, she met the one and only true love of her life, Gaspar. Soon after marring they moved to Tampico Farm, Durango, Mexico to start their new family. Socorro and Gaspar’s family grew. They were raising 6 children when Gaspar passed suddenly, leaving Socorro to raise them on her own. Socorro was determined that her children have an education so she packed them up and moved to the city. Later in life she adopted a girl named Cindy. Socorro relocated to Glendale, Arizona to live with one of her daughters (caregiver) and also to be near to her children and grandchildren.
Socorro leaves behind her children Eva Pena, Ana Ramirez, Sylvia Montaner, Modesto Ramirez, Carlos Ramirez, Gaspar Ramirez and Cindy Ramirez; 25 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; siblings Angel, Mateo, Marina, Erminia, Margarita, Antonia and Maria.
Socorro is preceded in heaven by her only love Gaspar; her parents Francisco and Leocadia; brother Leandro, sister Victoria and grandson Eric.
