She was born on January 25, 1939 in McVille, North Dakota to the late Theodore and Olga (Foreng) Halvorson.
Sonja’s husband of 42 years Robert passed away on December 2, 2000. Robert was a Chiropractor who practiced in Phoenix, AZ until his death.
Both Robert and Sonja loved to spend time in the outdoors with their boys and experienced many memorable outings over the years.
Sonja is survived by three sons Randy (Lori), Kevin (Anne) & Shawn (Kerri), six grandchildren Selena, Jenna, Jack, Reier, Kyl & Randen.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her brother Timothy Halvorson.
Keeping with Sonja’s wishes she was laid to rest in a private ceremony with her husband at Resthaven Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley in Phoenix, AZ or Sigdal Lutheran church in Tolna, ND.
