Sonya R. Ledesma-Herrera

Sonya is survived by her husband of 21 years, Jose Jaime Herrera, daughters, Brianna, Ashley Ahumada, Sierra Ahumada, and Alexandra, sons, Andres, Jaime Jr, Carlos, 2 sons-in-law, 1 daughter-in-law, 8 grandchildren, father Trinidad Ledesma Jr., 2 brothers, and 1 sister and mother-in-law, Betty Herrera.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Ruelas Ledesma, grandparents Margarita Ledesma & nephew Pete Anthony Burruel.

Sonya was a very loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She spent the majority of her time cheering on her children from any and all sidelines. She was a great cook, who also loved camping, dancing, and spending quality time with family and friends. She was also an avid Cardinals fan and spent many weekends tailgating for her team. Her sense of style, crazy laugh, and witty comebacks will never be forgotten. She was strong, courageous, and fierce, and she never backed down from anything or anyone. She gave great advice, and always helped those in need. She welcome those who entered her home, with open arms. Her home and family were always loving and inviting. There are no words to describe the immense pain we all feel from losing a great woman, who was genuine at heart, and respected and loved by all. We thank you all for those who supported her, loved her, and gave her the strength to continue her fight.

A viewing for Sonya will be held Friday, July 22, 2022, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at West Resthaven Funeral Home, 6450 West Northern Ave, Glendale, Arizona, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM.
