Sophia Press

Sophia was a supervisor for Mountain Bell and, later retired from her career in telecommunications from AT&T. She loved attending church and spending time with her family, including her dogs.

In addition to her parents, Sophia is preceded in death by siblings Thurman, Clinton, Carlie, Elbert, Carnie, Foley, Vesta, Merida, Malvery, Paris, and Arson.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Gary. Sophia is also survived by her sister Stella, children Robert, Teresa and Gary, step-children Gary and Tamara, grandchildren Shari, Kendra, Lindsay, Shelby, Kim and Erica, step- grandchildren Brittany, Jordan, Jake and Justin, 9 great-grandchildren and 2 step-great grandchildren.

Services for Sophia will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 with visitation from 11:00am to 12:00pm with a funeral service immediately following at 12:00pm at West Resthaven Funeral Home 6450 West Northern Avenue in Glendale. She will be laid to rest at Resthaven Park Cemetery, also in Glendale following the funeral service.

The family has requested that donations can be made in Sophia’s name to Church of God World Missions or, to Life Church at South Mountain.
