Stephan Knight

Steve began his teaching career in 1963 as a physical education teacher, later serving as a dean of students, athletic director, and ultimately as a high school principal. Throughout his more than 35 years in education, he dedicated himself to supporting students, families, and the broader community with compassion, integrity, and an unwavering belief in the value of learning and hard work.

A lifelong athlete, Steve played basketball for Grand Canyon University and went on to coach high school football and basketball. His love of fitness continued throughout his life, as he spent countless miles training for 5Ks, half marathons, and full marathons as well as golfing.

Steve was deeply devoted to his wife of 64 years, Joyce Knight, and to his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Joyce, and daughter, Kim Parker; three grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Kent Knight, who passed away June 14, 2025.

A funeral service will be held at West Resthaven Funeral Home, located at 6450 West Northern Ave, Glendale, AZ 85301, on November 18, 2025, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.

Following the funeral service, a committal service is scheduled at Resthaven Park Cemetery, also at 6450 W Northern Ave, Glendale, AZ 85301, from 12:00 pm to 12:49 pm on the same day. Reception immediately following at Resthaven.
