I have known Steve since high school and he was a great guy with a sense of humor that kept everyone laughing.
Steve, will be missed dearly. My sincere condolences to his family and to Jim his brother.

I grew up babysitting for Steve's three wonderful kids.  Our families were very close sometimes seeming like we were as one.  We went camping ATCing and sharing many holidays together. I loved Steve very much and ?I thank him for making my life both better and much more fun. Prayers for Ashley and Sean two of the kids I got to watch grow up. ATC'ing and camping with him and his family. I have so many fond memories of these times with him as our families grew so close to his we were as one. Steve I will miss you and will remember you always. Thank you for making my life growing up a better and way for fun.  Praying for all suffering his loss.

Wow.  What a surprise.  Here we are all of use getting ramped up for the big group reunion and this is the last thing I and I'm guessing most of us expected to hear.

It was good to see Jim again.  Wish I could have made it to more than the funeral service but could not.

Steven was my nephew whom I loved very much.  I remember him as a child playing with my children and he would sit on my knee and I would try to feed him. 
He was very finicky about his food and also a bit stubborn. He was a delightful child.  He really never got into any trouble. He did watch as the rest of the kids got into trouble.  He left Iowa and ended up in Phoenix. I missed a lot of those years.  A great joy of  mine now is a picture I have of Steven and I taken at his dad's funeral last March.  This has been a sad time for me.  I thank God for being able to  know Steve and the beautiful memories I have.  All my love, Aunt Juanita Shipler, Batavia, Iowa

Steve was my next door neighbour from the time I was born thru my teenage years... I always looked forward to going next door and hanging out while Steve was building his sandrail or working on ATV's... I learned a lot from Steve and he was the most passionate, understanding, and down to earth person I know. When I was a kid he would invite me to go flying... we would lease a two or four seater single engine for a few hours out of Glendale Airport and have the greatest time... He taught me how to ride a dirt bike. He took me to the dunes and cinders. Steve was "good people" and I remember Steve like yesterday. You will be remembered forever and deeply missed. Steve was a special friend in High school, he came to watch my band play (The Swagmen), we partied and played cards and had a great time together with all our friends, Sorry to say the last time I saw Steve was my leave from Viet Nam 41 years ago, I thought of him often and wondered how he was, I wish we had connected over the years but we all go our seperate ways. He will be missed God Bless his family.
