Susan (Susie) Donnelly, age 73, passed away unexpectedly on December 24, 2019. Susie was born in Reno, Nevada on November 14,1946 to Nina Trimble and Donnell Trimble. She lived most of her life here in the valley of the sun and graduated from Carl Hayden High School in 1965. She married Robert Donnelly in 1969 and was widowed in 1975. Susie worked for the Department of Interior in the Bureau of Land Management for 36 years when she retired. She made lifelong friends at her job and always kept in touch with them. Despite a birth injury which caused a significant handicap, Susie truly loved life and made friends easily. She loved all animals and volunteered at the Phoenix Zoo for a time. Not counting her many pups, cats, hamsters and other critters she dotted on, she loved horses the most. She loved spending time with her family and was devoted to them.
She is survived by her sister, Kathy, her nephews, and many grand-nieces and nephews, including family recently discovered through the Ancestry Genealogy site, including 2 half-sisters, Barbara and Joanne. Those that knew Susie, knew her to be a kind and generous soul to family and friends alike.
Despite her physical difficulties, Susie always tried to remain positive. She loved the Lord with all her heart and is now in his arms. She is free from pain and along with her family, she’s likely running and playing with all of her fur-babies.
Family, friends and others whose lives were touched by knowing Susie are invited to celebrate her life at the Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary at 11:00 a.m. on January 3, 2020. Graveside service to follow at Resthaven Park Cemetery.
