She was born in Cananea, Sonora Mexico on April 1, 1923. She worked as a campesina in her early life. She had a passion for sewing, gardening, cooking and taking care of her family.
She is survived by one daughter, Gloria Barrera (Marcos Sr) Almazan and 3 grandchildren, Marcos Jr, Jessica and Melissa as well as 11 great grandchildren. Her parents were Panfilo Barrera and Carmen Navarez. She was the last surviving member of all 11 siblings: Carmen, Enriqueta, Gilbert, Manuel, Lupe, Julia, Estefana, Isabel, Esther and 2 twin boys.
Services will be held at Chapel of the Chimes on December 6, 2023, from 4-7pm. Mass services will be held at St. Charles Barromeo on December 7, 2023, at 10:30am followed by a graveside service at City of Glendale cemetery.
