It is with a sad heart that we say goodbye to Tom Phillips, who passed away on January 15, 2026. Tom was an Air Force veteran, known for his quick wit and effortless charm. He owned his own Sew and Vac shop in Norfolk, Nebraska. Tom later moved to Arizona in 1975, where he worked at new car lots until he was able to buy two used car lots of his own.
You could often find him seated and enjoying a game of Gin Rummy. Some would say Tom was a passionate collector of antiques who had a keen eye for craftsmanship and a story for every piece he brought home. In retirement, he loved going to yard sales. His love for his pets was truly inspiring—most recently, his bird Floyd and cat Dakota. They shared an irreplaceable connection and brought him great joy. He always cared for them and treated them as family.
Above all, Tom’s greatest pride was his family. He is survived by his three daughters, Sherri, Angie, and Sheila, as well as his six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, who carry forth his sense of humor, unconditional love, and appreciation for a life well lived.
