Twila A. McLaughlin, a long time resident of Phoenix, passed away peacefully at home on September 15, 2011 at the age of 95. She was born at home in Reynoldsville, PA in 1916, and was the middle child of seven. Twila was a Charter member of the Hope American Baptist Church and had taught Sunday School class to all ages in Pennsylvania and Arizona. She served on various church boards and committees. Twila was quite talented in sewing, crocheting, and especially baking. Her husband, William, two sisters and three brothers, preceded Twila in death. She is survived by her daughters Jean McLaughlin, Karen (John) Foster, Diane McLaughlin, and Rita McElwain, her sister Luella Lauver of Pennsylvania, five grandchildren Kimberly, Brian (Erin), and Marnel McElwain, Jennifer and Jaimie Foster and one great-grandson Colin. Services are scheduled for Saturday, September 24, 2011 at West Resthaven Cemetery and Funeral Home, 6450 W. Northern Avenue in Glendale, Arizona. Visitation is at 10:00 am with the funeral following at 11:00 am. Twila's family appreciates the care and compassion given to her by Hospice of the Valley.
