Vicente Raul Benitez

Vicente grew up in Peoria, Arizona, and was a graduate of Peoria High School’s Class of 2010. He was a state qualifier for both wrestling and cross country and went on to receive an athletic scholarship to Glendale Community College to run Cross Country.

Vicente was strong-willed and quick-witted, always able to find laughter in any situation. Like his dad, he will be remembered for his humor and ability to quote any movie. He was a man of many talents, including drawing, digital art, and all things filmmaking, including screenwriting, directing, editing, and visual effects. Vicente could play music by ear, playing the guitar, piano, and trumpet. He enjoyed playing video games, and camping, and was a friend to all dogs, caring for many in his life, especially Bonita, Lola, Sopapilla, Toothless, and his own dog Daisy.

Vicente is survived by his mother Martha, and four siblings: Esteban, Stephanie Musa, brother-in-law Glenn Musa, and Angela Benitez. He was preceded in death by his father Steve Benitez.

A Rosary will be held on Thursday, August 10, 2023, at 10:30 am followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 am at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Peoria. The Rite of Committal and burial will be at Resthaven Park Cemetery (6450 W. Northern Ave., Glendale, AZ 85301).
