She was born on July 4, 1931 in Kanab, Utah to the late H.S. and Martha Dennis. The family moved to Arizona when Virginia was still a baby, making Virginia almost a “native” of Arizona.
She married Gerald Walker on October 16, 1948; they shared over 39 years of joyous marriage prior to his passing on July 20, 1987.
She is survived by two children Gerri Sylvester & David Walker, four grandchildren Lori, Larry, Christa & Chandler, five great grandchildren Samantha, Maranda, Piper, Maddie & Walker and many nieces & nephews. Gerri’s husband Tim and David’s wife Debbie, were wonderful support spouses, enabling Gerri and David to be there for Virginia until her passing.
In addition to her husband and parents a daughter Kathleen “Kathy” and three siblings Art, Barbara & Frank preceded Virginia in death.
Family and friends are invited to a viewing on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at 12:30 PM at West Resthaven Funeral Home, 6450 W. Northern Avenue, Glendale. Funeral services will begin at 1 PM. Burial will follow in Resthaven Park Cemetery.
