Bill Mouzon, 81, died Thursday, April 12th, in Phoenix, Arizona. Bill was born to the late Samuel McQueen Mouzon and Sara Elizabeth (Tisdale) Mouzon on November 2nd, 1930 in Williamsburg County, South Carolina. Bill married Lucile Lumley March 4th, 1952. They lived in South Carolina, Tennessee and Indiana, before settling in southern Ohio. Bill began his career as a cabinetmaker and his love of woodwork led to a life-long interest in antique collecting. He established the refrigeration business, Mouzon Manufacturing, in Morrow, Ohio and was an early pioneer in the design and production of walk-in coolers in the Midwest.
Bill and Lucile retired to Phoenix, Arizona in 1984. Bill loved Phoenix, and quickly made it his home. His passion for hunting and fishing was gratified by the big game available in the state, and he developed some wonderful friendships through this shared interest. Bill had an exceptional gift for storytelling and humor, and brought a sparkle to every occasion. He cherished his faith, and was quick to share it with others. Bill and Lucile opened their home to their Christian community and were given to hospitality. As a result, his true family includes many more people than simply his relatives.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brother Sam and sister Sallie. He is survived by his wife, Lucile, of Phoenix, Arizona, his brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Ruth Mouzon of Oberlin, Ohio, nine nieces and nephews, fifteen great-nieces and nephews, twenty great-great nieces and nephews, and many dear friends in Arizona, Ohio, South Carolina and across the country. The funeral will be held April 20th, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the West Resthaven Park Mortuary, 6450 West Northern Avenue, Glendale, Arizona.
