Born in Abilene, Texas, Gloria lived a life rooted in faith, love, service, and an unwavering belief in the potential of others. She encouraged with kindness, listened without judgment, and inspired everyone she met to become their very best.
A devoted member of First A.M.E. Church in Pasadena, Gloria faithfully served through Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and the Women’s Choir, sharing God’s love with generations of families.
Her greatest earthly joy was her beloved son, Tim Clay. As the matriarch of her family, she treasured their history, strengthened their bonds, and taught by example the values of faith, integrity, compassion, and excellence.
For more than forty years, Gloria served in education, touching countless lives as a teacher, mentor, and leader. Her true legacy lives not in the positions she held, but in the lives she uplifted.
She is lovingly remembered by her son, Tim Clay; her brother, Leonard Clay; her supportive companion, Richard Perkins; and a host of family, friends, former students, and church members.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:23
