Mary Elizabeth Dumont

Mary Dumont was born and raised in Los Angeles and a graduate of LA High. Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Rene, Sr., her son, Rene, Jr., her brother Bill Roberts (Nan), and her grandson, Robert, Jr. (Monica). She was the mother of 9 and is survived by daughters Michele, Joane, Theresa Hensley (Brien), Suzanne, and Jeanine Allison (Jeffrey) and by her sons James (Katherine), Robert, Sr. (Robin), and Pete (Jeanie). She was very proud of all of her grandchildren (12) and great grandchildren (12) and numerous step-grandchildren that she counted as her own. She is also survived by her brother Dr. John Roberts of the California Institute of Technology and the families of her brothers.

Mary died peacefully in her sleep. In her last days she repeatedly said how happy her life was and how much she loved all of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be missed by all of them and her many close friends.

Over the years Mary did volunteer work at Cathedral Chapel School and Church (where all of her children attended school) and Orthopedic Hospital. She was a member of the Ebell Club and PEO.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 15, 2014, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, Callanan & Woods Scovern Mortuary at 511 S. Central Avenue, Glendale, CA 91204. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 16, 2014, 10:00am, Cathedral Chapel of St. Vibiana at 923 S. La Brea Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90036. Graveside service will be held on Monday, August 18, 2014, 10:00am, Calvary Cemetery at 4201 Whittier Blvd., Los Angeles, CA.
