Rafael (Raffy) Lagonera Yamzon was born in Manila, Philippines, on June 20, 1950. He came to the United States in 1976 with his mother, brothers and sisters. He worked in the aerospace industry as a molding engineer for over 30 years. In 1978, he married Angelina (Angie) Perez Yamzon, and had three children: Sherill Lynne, Jonathan Ralph, and Bryan Daniel.
Raffy loved spending time with his family. During the week, you would find him bowling. He bowled and competed in tournaments for over 40 years. On the weekends, the family would either be camping, fishing, golfing or taking random road trips to the beach. He loved going cross-country for vacation. The Pacific-Northwest and Canada was one of his favorite places to visit with his family.
Throughout his battle with diabetes, Raffy tried to have a positive attitude and tried to make sure he was never a burden to his family. Unfortunately, Raffy passed away after having a major stroke, on June 9, 2018. He was surrounded by his family at the time of passing.
He is preceded by this parents, Cesar Yamzon and Naomi Lagonera; and his youngest sister, Monina Yamzon Huben. Raffy is the eldest in his family. His surviving brothers and sisters are Cesar Jr. Yamzon, Carmencita Reagan, Carissa Totalca, Emmanuel Yamzon, Esy Yamzon, and Marcelino Yamzon, along with his Aunt Myrna Aguila, cousins, nieces and nephews. He leaves memories to cherish to a host of loving relatives and friends.
