Born on September 30th, 1952 in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia, Whisky was the eldest child of 12 children from mother Koh Lai Chan and father Yong Chee Fah. He spent most of his childhood in Malaysia, then ventured to Hong Kong and United States. He graduated from Northrop University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and pursued careers in Engineering and in Finance, as well as other worthwhile careers. He worked hard at everything he did. He always kept a positive attitude and had an infectious charisma.
Whisky is survived by his two loving children, Justin and Camille Yong. He loves his first grandchild Julia so very much. He expressed much love for his family and friends no matter what. He always has his heart in Malaysia where most of his family and friends are. He worked very hard to bring a good life to his family. His love for them knew no bounds, and he always made sure how much they meant to him. He imparted valuable lessons of integrity, kindness, and perseverance, shaping them into the remarkable individuals they are today. His love and guidance will continue to live on in their hearts forever.
Whisky was an avid golf player for its relaxed and social nature, just as he was. He cherished spending time with his family and friends, creating memories that will be cherished for generations to come. He is a man loved by his charisma and go-getter attitude. Whisky was a strong-minded man with strong values and traditions. He gave praise to many and wished everyone the best in all that they do.
Whisky will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of love, generosity, and compassion will continue to inspire those whose lives he touched. Though he may no longer be with us in body, his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
Whisky is in a better place now. No more suffering or pain. He is now in peace, surrounded by loved ones.
Please take care of each other and love each other everyday as you may never know what tomorrow may bring. Whisky lived with no regrets and we know he left this world in happiness.
Whisky enjoyed all of your friendship, time, and connection. To my healthcare workers who have helped my father through his many complicated health issues, he deeply appreciated your patience, kindness, and help. He has admired many who have selflessly helped him and he said if he would do it all over again, he would be a healthcare provider. We thank you all so much and we appreciate and love the support, visits, and time spent with the family.
A funeral service to celebrate Whisky's life will be held on Saturday April 20th, 2024 at Glendale Funeral Home located on 511 S. Central Ave. Glendale, CA 91204. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to gofundme, in honor of Whisky's memory.
