Emma A Gerlach

Emma Gerlach, 86, of Paramus, NJ passed away on December 20, 2016 at home. Born in Graflinden, Slovenia on November 24, 1930, Emma Rauch was the fourth of 4 children. She moved with her parents and siblings to the United States in Ridgewood, NY where she met and ultimately married Oswald Gerlach. Together they produced a family of two boys, Walter and Norbert. She was predeceased by; her son Walter in 1991, her husband in 1993, and her siblings Ernst, Mitzi, and Josef.

She is survived by her son, Norbert, his wife Linda, and her daughter-in-law, Louise; also her six grandchildren Stephanie, Thomas, Erica, Jaclyn, Mathew, Daniel as well as her great-grandchildren, Colson Gerlach and Finn Walter Kocsis.

Family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, December22nd at the George Werst Funeral Home, 71-41 Cooper Avenue, Glendale, NY., (718) 821-8777, with viewings from the hours of 2-5pm and 7- 9pm. The Funeral Service will be held the next day at 10am at St. Matthias R.C. Church of Ridgewood, NY. Interment will follow at St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale, NY. The family has designated the CADASIL foundation (www.cadasilfoundation.org) for memorial contributions.
