Hermine Maus

Hermine Maus, 85, a longtime resident of Glendale, New York, passed away on June 5, 2026. Born on October 9, 1940, Hermine lived a life marked by steadfast devotion to those she held closest. Her greatest joy was found in her family and in the cherished roles she fulfilled as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Nothing made her happier than attending family gatherings and celebrating each milestone, large and small.

For many years, she was her grandchildren’s “short-order cook” in the truest and most generous sense, never missing an opportunity to prepare exactly what they wanted so they would feel loved and cared for. In quieter moments, she found contentment tending her garden and unwinding with her favorite soap operas.

Hermine is now reunited with her beloved husband, Wendel. She is survived by her loving children, Gerhard Maus (Diane) and Elvine Franzini (Stephen); her grandchildren, Nicholas Franzini (Lauren), Anthony Franzini (Brittany), and Joseph Franzini; and her great-grandchildren, Cameron Franzini and the newest arrival to the family, Santino Franzini.

Hermine will be deeply missed, but the memories shared and the love she gave will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. May she rest in eternal peace.

Visitation will be held at Werst & LaBella Funeral Home, 71-41 Cooper Ave, Glendale, NY 11385, US, on Monday, June 15, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Pancras Church, 72-22 68th St, Glendale, NY 11385, US, on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at 9:30 AM.

The interment will follow at All Faiths Cemetery, 67-29 Metropolitan Ave, Middle Village, NY 11379, US, on Tuesday, June 16, 2026.
