Irving E. Cross

Irving studied English literature in college, a foundation that reflected and strengthened a mind drawn to ideas, reflection, and the written word. His love of literature remained a steady presence throughout his life, shaped by an intellectual spirit and a philosophical way of seeing the world.

He worked as a security guard for the United Nations, carrying out his responsibilities with quiet steadiness and professionalism.

Irving also found meaning and perspective through travel. He traveled to Poland many times and visited Italy, where his parents had origins—journeys that connected him to places that mattered and widened the horizons of an already thoughtful life.

A devout Catholic, Irving was an active member of the parish of St Cyril & Methodius Church in Brooklyn, where faith and community were central parts of his daily life.

Irving is survived by his dear friends.
