I was Lucky to be friends with Jack from cardio rehab. He had a wonderful sense of humor and always talked about his loving wife and beautiful family. I enjoyed getting his wife’s coffee cake recipe and using it for my own holidays. He would always tell me how every year he looked forward to reading the night before Christmas to his grandchildren. I know this year whoever is reading this story he will be reading right along with all of you. My heart and deepest condolences go to his entire family. My friend may you rest in peace.

I have too many wonderful memories of my Grandfather to fit onto this page. He was the most amazing man and I am so incredibly blessed to be one of his several grandchildren. However, the memory that will always be dear to me is when he would tell me “You’re my favorite granddaughter named Rebecca”.

I’ll take it, Grandpa.
I’ll miss you and a piece of me is always with you.

I grew up across the street from the Preis’s. I have many great memories of Mr. Preis. One was I was over the house with John (Jack’s son) and Mr. Preis was cutting the boys hair with his clippers and asked me if I wanted a haircut also, I said sure and quickly learned that Mr. Preis was very good at many things but cutting hair was not one of them. The Preis house was always open and I spent many days and nights there. Mr. and Mrs. Preis were great role models and friends to all. Mr. Preis will be greatly missed.

Some of my wonderful memories of Jack include -
His fantastic horror stories he'd tell us little kids while driving us from Sacred Heart swim practices. We'd wish for traffic so he could really make them extra long and terrifying.
At 16, I started working at NY Tel in Jack's department. He gathered Steven, Mo and I in his office after 6 months and had us sign up for the 401k plan in 1972. Thanks - Very smart.
Years later it was always fun to have a few beers at the Pries house, even though the beer was usually Carling Black Label - Jack's favorite?
We all love Jack and owe him a lot.
Our heartfelt sympathies go out to all the Pries family.
