

June Carolyn Nofer Dunn also known as “Babe,” “My Bride,” “Junie,” and “Miss June,” as well as “mom,” and “grandma,” lived a long and beautiful life filled with strength and love.
June was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1929. She was the loving daughter of Roland Nofer and Elizabeth Hildebrand Nofer and adored granddaughter of Roland and Crenzence Nofer and Jacob and Johanna Hildenbrand. June worked as a server in Manhattan during high school and later became a secretary in an office in Manhattan for Nabisco Company. She married her childhood sweetheart, Charles (Charlie), whom she began dating at only 14 years old. They married in 1951, she was 21, just before he went to serve as a U.S. Marine. June was a devoted stay-at-home mom and raised her incredible children, Gail and Maureen, as well as Ellen who she loved during her short time on Earth. She went on to become a school aide at P.S. 113 where her grandchildren later attended elementary school. She was beloved by her coworkers and students alike and enjoyed working until she retired to spend time with her family and enjoyed many memorable times with Charlie.
June is survived by her wonderful children, Gail Nielson and Maureen Caravella, her sons in-law, John Nielson and Thomas Caravella, and her loving grandchildren, Cayla and Thomas Caravella. June is predeceased by the love of her life, Charlie, as well as her precious daughter, Ellen Dunn. Her strength, tenacity, zest for life, humor, and heart will be missed by all who loved her, but met by the many who have longingly missed her.
Family and friends are invited to her services on Thursday, July 31st, 2025 from 3p.m. to 8p.m. at Werst and LaBella funeral home at 71-41 Cooper Avenue, Glendale, New York. The mass will be held on Friday, August 1st, 2025 at 9:30 a.m. St. Pancras Church at 72-22 68th Street Glendale, New York. Burial to follow at Long Island National Cemetery at 2040 Wellwood Avenue, Farmingdale, New York.
