Marisol Rivera was born on June 1, 1957 to Angelina Vega Figueroa and José Aníbal Figueroa and passed away on May 19, 2019. She was raised in Bayamón, Puerto Rico and lived in Okinawa, Japan and Oceanside, California before settling down in New York City with her husband. She was an avid reader and loved to garden. Marisol earned her Masters in Education from Hunter College and taught first grade at P.S. 151 for over 20 years, earning multiple awards for excellence in teaching. She is survived by Francisco, her husband of over 35 years, and by Marielle, her daughter.
