Martin Joseph Fantozzi, " a very nice man", passed away on May 6, 2026, at the age of 68. Born on November 12, 1957, Martin lived with steady devotion to the people he loved, offering generosity not as an occasional gesture but as a constant way of being. He will be remembered with deep respect and enduring affection by all who had the privilege to know him.
Martin was a beloved father to Jessica and a proud grandfather to Jaeden. He was a cherished brother to Louis and a dear lifelong friend to Louise. He was also a devoted dog dad, with a special love for animals—especially dogs—whose companionship brought him comfort and joy.
A hard and dedicated worker for the MTA, Martin carried a strong personality and a sharp mind, marked by an easy command of “random knowledge” that could brighten any conversation. He genuinely loved to talk with people, and those conversations—thoughtful, spirited, and often memorable—were part of how he stayed connected to the world around him. Above all, he was a man who consistently took care of his family, making sure they never went without.
Martin found happiness outdoors, drawn to hiking, fishing, golf, and the quiet steadiness of nature. In the kitchen and at the grill, his care for others was unmistakable. A great cook and an enthusiastic griller, he was known for saying, “Meat's meat, and a man's gotta eat!” He also had a sweet tooth and especially loved ice cream—simple pleasures that suited him well and were enjoyed in good company.
Martin will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for his devoted presence, his generous heart, and the steady care he gave so freely to those closest to him.
