

Philip was born in Brooklyn, New York on January 6, 1925. Philip was a loving husband and father. He was also a leader, a provider, a protector, a teacher and so much more. Philip was a man of big accomplishments and a man of few words.
Philip was preceded in death by his wife Nancy Grennell, daughter Mary Jo McGreevey and son Manuel “Manny” Aquila. He is survived by his children Laura Hawkins, Philip Aquila II, Frank Aquila, Nancy Aquila, 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
A visitation for Philip is planned for Thursday, April 28, 2022, from 3 pm to 7 pm. The visitation will be at the Werst & LaBella Funeral Home on 71-41 Cooper Avenue, Glendale, New York. All are invited to attend. A funeral mass will be on Friday, April 29, 2022 at St. Pancras Catholic Church at 9:30 am. Internment will be immediately following at Calverton National Cemetery in Suffolk County.
