Philip Canova

Philip was a devoted husband to Susan, with whom he shared over 30 years of marriage. He was a loving father to his children, Philip and Alex, and a dog dad to Bernie, Winnie, and Bailey. He was also a cherished brother to Fred and his wife, Phyllis. Cherished uncle to his many nieces and nephews. Philip was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Marguerite.

Throughout his career, Philip worked for UPS for many years, where he was recognized for his hard-working and honest approach. His dedication to his work was unmatched, reflecting his faithful and thoughtful character.

Philip had a passion for hunting and enjoyed sharing great meals with family and friends. He loved playing "May I," as well as hosting summer barbeques and family get-togethers, where his kind-hearted and generous spirit was always evident.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A visitation will be held at Werst & LaBella Funeral Home, located at 71-41 Cooper Ave, Glendale, NY 11385, on February 19, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

The Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Pancras Church, 72-22 68th St, New York, NY 11385, on February 20, 2026, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am.

The committal service will follow at St. John Cemetery, 80-01 Metropolitan Ave, New York, NY 11379, on February 20, 2026, from 11:00 am to 11:30 am.
