Tom's life reminds me of the story in Matthew of the three stewards. The master of the household gives each of his stewards assets to employ for him in his absence. We understand that the master of the household is God. To each of us God entrusts talents. All receive some talent. Some receive much. I believe God entrusted much talent to Tom. In Matthew's story the master returns after a long time and calls his stewards to account. We understand this means God returns to us at the end of our lives and examines what we did with the talent he gave us. In Mathew's story one of the stewards did nothing with the assets the master gave him, and he was condemned. The second steward did passing well, and he was rewarded. The third steward, I compare him to Tom, did very well with the assets entrusted to him. Tom invested the talents God gave him in serving others, his family, his clients, his constituents, rich and poor, high and low alike. The appearance of so many at yesterday's service provides all the proof one needs to know how well Tom served his maker. At the end of Matthew's story the master of the household praises the third steward, "Well done, good and faithful servant." I believe God so praises my Cousin Tom.

The things I remember most about Tom were his tremendous
Sense of humor, his moral courage, & his friendliness. There
Are so few in America that display the character qualities that
Our nation needs so badly as those possessed by our friend
Tom. May the Lord comfort Tom's family & close friends during
This of bereavement.

I knew Tom Ognibene as a fellow tank officer at Ft. Knox, Kentucky. We served together in Company B, 5th Battalion 33rd Armor, 194th Armored Brigade. A graduate of the Armor School's OCS, Tom was an energetic, bright, and superbly trained lieutenant and platoon leader. The successes of his subsequent career in law and political leadership were easily predicted by the high standards and performance Tom routinely delivered in those days in the US Army so long ago.
My sympathies go to his family -- Margaret, Guy, and Eve.

May my friend, Tom Ognibene, rest in peace.

As an OCS classmate of Tom's, I am deeply sadened by his death. Who we were and what we did unfolded after our 24 weeks together, Tom left his mark as a family man, father and grandfather, I will lift him and all of you in my prayers. Blessings!
