

She was married for 53 years to Donald I. Dickinson who passed away in late January of this year.
Carol graduated from Drake University with a BA in English and Literature. She attended Columbia University and the University of Hawaii graduating with an MA in Asian Art History. She also taught at Iowa State University.
She was the first woman allowed to teach in Saudi Arabia at the University level by special decree of King Faisal.
Carol served as Art Critic for the Rocky Mountain news. She also was a Member of the Denver Art Museum Program. She served as the Executive Director of Foothills Art Center in Golden and dedicated the Carol and Don Dickinson Sculpture Garden at Foothills Art Center.
Carol’s other accomplishments included being named Living Legend in 2005 in Golden, Colorado, and she was named in Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who of American Women.
Carol is survived by her Daughter Lauren Dickinson, her Sister Mary Ann Roberts, Half-brothers Robin, Rex, and John Rittgers and a Half-Sister Dixie Russell. She will also be sadly missed by many dear friends.
A Funeral Service will be held for Carol at the Calvary Episcopal Church, 1320 Arapahoe Street, Golden, Colorado on Friday, March 15, 2013 at 10:00a.m.
In lieu of flowers offerings to commission a sculpture ”Beauty”, may be sent to the Foothills Art Center, 809 15th Street, Golden, Colorado 80401.
